Whimsical Squid Creations is the lovingly crafted products of a cosplayer and all-around geeky crafter! Based in Guelph, Ontario, Canada and specializing with sewn items, I offer bags, hats, plushies, wall hangings and many other cute and nerdy accessories, and am always open to suggestions (and may be able to do a custom order if you don't quite find what you need).

  • Where is the store based?

  • Do you accept orders placed outside of the US?

    We do! We are based in Canada, and we can ship internationally. However, we take no responsibility for customs fees or import restrictions in the destination country. We assume that you the buyer have checked that you can have your items sent to your country and are ready to pay any extra duty fees. All our packages sent outside of North America are shipped with tracking.

  • Do you sell offline?

    Sure do! I in fact prefer it as I never have to deal with shipping things or paypal fees, and I have far more products available offline than online right now (including convention exclusives that are too expensive/large to calculate flat-rate shipping for). I sell mainly at Renaissance and fantasy festivals and occasional comicons in Southern Ontario. My facebook page lists what events I'll be selling at for the year.

  • What are your products made from?

    For the most part, they are minky and blizzard fleeces, polyester fiberfill, cotton velvets, felt, satin, and various types of thread/string. Materials are listed on each product for more detail.

  • How long will it take to receive my order?

    (PLEASE NOTE- Due to COVID-19, shipping times may be delayed)
    Once shipped most domestic orders take anywhere from 2 to 8 business days to arrive depending on the shipping method and your location in Canada. US orders will take about the same. International shipping delivery times vary more but shipping to Europe takes about 4 weeks on average. If you need a custom shipping option that I don't offer, feel free to get in touch! I can do a special transaction outside of my official storefront in such a case.

  • Can you do a custom order?

    Maybe. Send me an email or message me through any of my other websites detailing what you want, your budget, your timeframe and where you live (just the country will do). If your request is in my skill/equipment level, I can probably take it on.

  • Why does your shipping cost so much? Do you have cheaper options?

    Unfortunately, Canada Post is very expensive for what it offers. It's almost impossible to ship a tracked package within Canada, even a tiny one, for less than $12 (not counting the packing materials). Shipping to the US is cheaper but adding tracked shipping is considerably more expensive. I have a small business account but the discounts are small, and unfortunately there are no courier companies like Chitchats or Pirateship in our area yet. In addition, with Storenvy's flat-rate shipping rate methods, I had to calculate the farthest reasonable distances from me that could place an order from within North America. For small/flat items that can be put into regular mail inside Canada I have that option as it costs only a few dollars, but it does not have tracking available. I check and update my shipping costs regularly to keep as accurate as possible, but if there is a considerable overpayment in shipping costs, I can likely refund the surplus back to you or put in a bonus item.

  • A quick note on product pricing

    I'm based in Canada, and Storenvy has yet to have the CAD available on their storefront. My prices are thus priced in USD, with the exchange rate to CAD as close to the most recent rates as I can make it.

  • What is Storenvy?

  • How do I pay for my order? Is it secure?

    The Storenvy checkout process is powered by both Stripe and PayPal, two of the most trusted online payment solutions on the web. Because of this, Storenvy has all the same securities and payment fraud protection as these leading payment processors. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and Diners Club. If paying with PayPal, you may also make payments using your bank account, but this may delay your order.
